This article describes the Maintenance page available on the Datto Networking Portal.

Description

The Maintenance page allows you to apply firmware releases, define a maintenance window to allow for automatic firmware upgrades, and auto channel configuration for Datto Access Points.

NOTE  Auto Channel Optimization will run every night regardless of the maintenance window schedule on the Configure → Maintenance page.

Procedure

Navigation

1. In the Datto Partner Portal, click the Status tab, then select Networking Status from the drop-down menu.

2. In the Navigation menu, click Configure, then select Maintenance from the drop-down menu.

Configuration

Access Points

The follow device maintenance configurations are available:

  • Automatic upgrades: When enabled, your access points will automatically upgrade to the latest firmware release version as new upgrades become available.
  • Firmware release: This option allows you to select if access points use the latest or stable firmware release. Latest contains our newest software updates and features available for beta testing. A Latest release will become Stable after one release cycle. Read our access point release notes for a list of latest and stable firmware releases.

Configuration options for AP 840 and AP840E access points

The same upgrade options exist as on legacy access points, with a slightly revised heading in the GUI.

Maintenance window

A maintenance window allows you to define a time window where Datto Networking performs services such as firmware upgrades and automatic channel optimization for access points. You can configure the following options when setting up your maintenance window:

  • Start Time: Allows you to define what hour of the day the maintenance window opens
  • Duration: Allows you to define how long the window is open
  • Timezone: Allows you to define what timezone the start time references
  • Active Days: Allows you to specify what days of the week the maintenance window opens
