How do I replace the OS drive on an ALTO 4?

NOTE  Before removing the OS drive, contact Datto Technical Support. A Datto technician will need to run back end procedures to monitor and complete the process. Do not remove the OS drive if there is a disaster recovery scenario in progress.

Environment

  • Datto ALTO 4

Description

  1. Power off and unplug the device.
  2. Remove the cover screw on the back of the device.
  3. Slide the cover forward to remove it.

  1. Press in the blue release tabs from both sides to open the hard drive assembly.

  1. Slide the drive towards the tabs to remove the drive from the assembly.
  2. Slide in the new drive until it clicks in place.
  3. Close the hard drive assembly.
  4. Slide the case cover back in place and replace the screw.
  5. Plug in and power on the device.
