How do I replace the storage drive on an ALTO 4?
NOTE Before removing the storage drive, contact Datto Technical Support. A Datto technician will need to run back end procedures to monitor and complete the process. Do not remove the storage drive if there is a disaster recovery scenario in progress.
Environment
- Datto ALTO 4
Description
- Power off and unplug the device.
- Loosen the cover screw on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover forward to remove it.
- Press in the blue release latches from both sides to open the hard drive assembly.
The storage card sits below the OS drive and is held in place with a single screw (see image below)
- Remove the screw and replace the drive with the new drive.
- Replace the screw that holds the drive in place on the board.
- Close the hard drive assembly.
- Slide the case cover back in place and replace the screw that holds it in place.
- Plug in and power on the device..
The remaining steps in the process will be completed by Datto Technical Support.
